When a company genuinely treats its workforce with respect and people are one of its main assets, then the workers feel part of a big family where they contribute to its general success.

Describe your work responsibilities and the importance of your role.

At this moment, it is part of my responsibility to develop and support the level of implementation in technical projects at our site. The most important thing is to teach my colleagues to work together without fear of change and to keep seeking innovative solutions for the company.

Describe your day-to-day activities and the skills needed to perform well.

Leading and developing the team that implements the project portfolio for our site. Developing a culture where projects are implemented through best practices and procedures.

Describe your career path. Where did you start and how did you get to where you are today?

At the beginning of my career, I spent four years as an electrician in the production of raw starch, which was followed by four years as a foreman in the electrical shop. After operating equipment for several years, I started to work in project operations as a team leader in the installation and commissioning of electrical equipment and instrumentation. I continued to work in the project division in 2005, but this time as the head of a department that covered a wider spectrum of technical activities. During this period I also headed various projects at different levels. Three years ago I took over as head of the project service.

What do you find most rewarding about your work?

The most rewarding part of my work is seeing the growth of the Cargill, which involves both its own development and the development of its people through the observance of ethical principles.

Why did you choose to join Cargill and what keeps you here? In other words, how has a career at Cargill helped you to thrive?

I had started work at a factory before the arrival of the company. Then I saw that Cargill could develop the existing production and through these processes build substantial communication with people who are experts and who would teach other colleagues and share their information with them.

What advice would you give someone interested in a career at Cargill like yours?

Don’t be afraid to take on more, have a great desire to develop and believe that you will succeed in everything.

Share an interesting tidbit about yourself such as hobbies, volunteerism, favorite foods or activities, accomplishments inside or outside of work.

I’ve enjoyed cross-country skiing since childhood. It taught me not to be afraid to work at something and to achieve results.
